Re:            Vision, Mission, and Values Statements

Intro
After our meeting, on February 16th, 2012, I promised to send out a memo with the information we discussed in the meeting.  I will review the points made regarding the vision, mission and values of our company.
Vision Statement
In the first five years of The Coffee Shop we would like to see the companies reputation to be know as a neighborhood coffee shop.  We want our main focus of customers to be the college students of The University of Texas San Antonio, as well as, Northwest Vista along with the local residents of the surrounding neighborhoods. A minor focus of our customer base should be high school students and business professionals looking for a place to meet with their peers.  Since our main focus of customers is going to be college students we would also like for our employees to be college students as well, so the interaction between customers and employees is easier.  The reputation of our business needs to be a place where people feel like they can always come, a home away from home.  We want to provide the best customer service, a feeling where customers feel like we are their friends.  Our coffee needs to be something that people crave, that can help them stay warm on a cold day, and stay awake for the late night study sessions.  We should have the healthiest meals for people to feel like they still took care of their bodies even on days where there doesn’t seem much time to get in a good workout.  The study spaces and meeting places need to have the best quality equipment for efficiency and effectiveness.  Our prices need to be enough to be earning profit in the first five years to establish and provide a quality facility, so that after the initial five years we can become a non-profit enterprise.  Near the University of Texas at San Antonio, there are plenty of open lots in a wood area that would provide a great location for the facility we will need to build.  Providing a tranquil and peaceful atmosphere is just as important outside as it is inside. 
Mission Statement
This sections main purpose is for us to set goals for us to strive and attain as a team and unit, for us to be able to look ahead now and start handling things with those different goals in mind to accomplish.  The Coffee Shop will provide the best customer service, top quality food and beverages, and an atmosphere that customers will never want to leave, at all times.  We will give our best, so that we may be the best.
Values Statement
The success of The Coffee Shop is vital, we are going to provide a place for people to come and be in community with others.  We want our company’s success to be so great that we can give to other ministries, so we can give to other organizations, and so we may give back to our community.  For our company to be successful our product must be top quality.  Our food has to be something people crave, our drinks have to become famous, and our facility has to be a place people never want to leave.  Consistency of our products and services are going to be a large factor in the success of our company.  We must constantly be looking at how we can better serve our customers.  What would make the customers time at The Coffee Shop more enjoyable, more productive, and more memorable?  Our customer’s satisfaction is the one thing we need to focus on the most, because they are the ones that buy our product and make our company stay open!  The last important part of the company is the employees.  The customer service that the employees provide, their attitudes about the job, and their faithfulness will all be key factors in making the establishment the quality place it can be.  Without the employees the company can not and will not run.
Closing
Talking with each of you during our meeting assures me that with the right mindsets this company can really look like what we in vision it to be, as long as our attitudes remain where they are right now.  I’m so excited to see our goals get accomplished and experience the success we will have as a team.  Thank you for all of your hard work.  If you have any questions or anything you would like to add to the vision, mission or values statement, please feel free to call or email me!
